I would strongly recommend only starting a business if you feel that you have sufficient funds to do so. This does not mean that you have to fully fund your business from the ground up, just that you have enough to be taken seriously by banks and that you can manage large payments and interests before you start to see a profit.
If by business financing you mean handling your businesses finances too, I would strongly recommend a professional bookeeper or accountant, or at least someone who is experienced enough in that area to keep on top of transactions and can tell you who you need to speak to to manage your money yourself. There are some fantastic online accounting softwares such as Big Red Cloud (
www.bigredcloud.com/) that will not eat into your business costs but offer a really useful interface for your accounting so you can easily see what is going on.
I would recommend investing a small amount into a business already running if possible, unless you are well experienced in entrepreneurial work. This gives you a real life insight into the dangers and fluctuations within a business without the pressure on yourself and life's savings.
And speak to your bank and get a thorough understanding of what they expect of you given your credit history and current circumstances as each individual differs.
Best of luck
Jeff
