any young person can get a decent to great credit score. when starting from no credit, simply pay your bills on time and before you know it, you will have a good score.

now on another note, a great score doesnt necessarily mean you have good credit and can buy anything you want...

As someone else mentioned, the amount of credit you already have been granted is good for your score. That promotes the laziness of the creditors - if they see other creditors that they know are as tough or tougher than they are for evaluation on your credit report as giving you credit already then you must be a good candidate for them.

If you don't have large loans like auto or mortgage but have some credit cards then a large part of your score will be based on the available balance you have on those cards. Pay those cards down to move your score up.
