Comprehensive ("comp") is going to cover damage to your vehicle, after the deductible. Generally speaking, comp will cover damage to your vehicle while it's not being driven - things like theft, fire, natural events and vandalism. In some states it's the coverage that gives you glass coverage as well.

Third party insurance is what's commonly known as your liability. This covers you if you damage someone's property/vehicle or injure someone while driving.
